Is Your Website Craptacular? Is it Bringing Traffic to Your Website?

In today’s world, a website is a business virtual sales rep. Your website needs to make sense for your business and your target market. Is Your Website Craptacular or Spectacular?

Nowadays it seems everyone is concerned about driving traffic to their website. We don’t debate the importance of promoting your site to be successful. However, here at Xzito, we often ask a fundamental question: “what is the point of driving traffic to a crappy site if it’s not going to convert visitors to leads?” The answer is simple, “there is not a good reason to do so, it simply does not make sense”

In today’s world, a website is a business virtual sales rep, an investment that should be evaluated seriously and regularly. A website is never complete, it should constantly be changing and improving based on your target market audience. Your end goal should be increasing your onlineConversion rate.

Studies reveal that only 23% of first-time visitors to your website scroll down the home page.

That means that if you have important information and call to action at the bottom of the page, 77% of your first-time visitors are completely missing it! How is this affecting your business?

We know that people scan through a website and your site only has about 30 seconds to quickly engage the visitor to take some call of action. Studies found that people instinctively look at faces on websites and better yet, if the faces are looking at key headlines and call to action on the web page, your visitor's eyes will navigate from the photograph of the face to the headline or call to action the face is looking at.

At our web design agency workshops, we share several tips on how to increase traffic to your website by making your site more socially interactive. Overall, the idea is to improve your website's usability to engage your visitors and build a community that keeps coming back. Research by Nielsen Norman Group found that when a website is re-designed with a focus on usability, key business metrics increased by an average of 83%.

Start by asking yourself the following; how is the quality of the website's content? Are there any errors? How often do we make updates? Is the site really easy to navigate and use?
Remember, you need to have a web strategy that makes sense for your business and your target market. You don’t need all the bells and whistles; your site should not be busy and overwhelming. In fact, a study by the Stanford Persuasive Tech Lab found that good, simple, crisp web design that is visually appealing increases engagement and credibility.

I hope that by now I made my point, if you’re spending marketing dollars driving traffic to a site that is not clean, clear and concise, and does not address the needs of your target market, then it’s craptacular and you’re are probably not only wasting your time and money but also losing potential customers.
